<div style="font-family: "Trebuchet MS",sans-serif;">
<span style="vertical-align: middle;"><b>Best <a href="http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B005CWIVYI/ref=as_li_ss_tl?ie=UTF8&tag=asmanah-20&linkCode=as2&camp=1789&creative=390957&creativeASIN=B005CWIVYI" target="_blank">MacBook Pro</a> is the best laptop for your money</b></span></div>
<div style="font-family: "Trebuchet MS",sans-serif;">
I debated about getting <i>a <span style="white-space: nowrap;"><a class="sPL" href="http://www.blogger.com/blogger.g?blogID=9165219573290972513">best </a></span></i><i>Macbook Pro </i>rather than getting <i>a Windows
laptop</i>, even though I personally have several <i>Macs</i>, had <i>PCs</i> in the past,
and am well aware of the advantages and disadvantages of each. I was
not sure whether I would want to spend that much money on <i>a laptop</i> that I
may not use nearly as much as my <i>desktop</i>. I considered purchasing<i> a
Windows laptop</i> that was about half<i> the price</i>.</div>
<div style="font-family: "Trebuchet MS",sans-serif;">
<br /></div>
<div style="font-family: "Trebuchet MS",sans-serif;">
When researching
various brands of laptops, however, I found it difficult to decide on
what exactly to purchase. There are so many different choices, and
choice is a good thing normally. However, I have had only one PC (<i>a
Dell</i>) out of several over the years that was not a problem in some way.
Others were another <i>Dell desktop</i>, <i>a Dell laptop</i>, and an <i>HP desktop</i>. My
most recent attempt was an<i> ASUS laptop</i>, and the charger was able to go
through two charging cycles before it died. I've experienced the <i>
"service"</i> of all of the above, and I'm not impressed.</div>
<div style="font-family: "Trebuchet MS",sans-serif;">
<br /></div>
<div style="font-family: "Trebuchet MS",sans-serif;">
There are a few things I considered:</div>
<div style="font-family: "Trebuchet MS",sans-serif;">
<br /></div>
<div style="font-family: "Trebuchet MS",sans-serif;">
+ Reliability / Quality</div>
<div style="font-family: "Trebuchet MS",sans-serif;">
+ Service</div>
<div style="font-family: "Trebuchet MS",sans-serif;">
+ User friendliness</div>
<div style="font-family: "Trebuchet MS",sans-serif;">
- Crapware / bloatware</div>
<div style="font-family: "Trebuchet MS",sans-serif;">
- <b><i>Viruses</i></b> and other<b> <i>malware</i></b></div>
<div style="font-family: "Trebuchet MS",sans-serif;">
<br /></div>
<div style="font-family: "Trebuchet MS",sans-serif;">
After
considering where I am more likely to find the desirable
characteristics and a lack of undesirable ones, <i>Apple</i> wins again. Call
me a fanboy, if you must, but anyone that sticks to <i>Windows</i> through
thick and thin, considering the alternatives (<i>Mac</i>, <i>Linux</i>), with the
exception of business users that for some reason cannot escape, is more
fanboy than anyone.</div>
<div style="font-family: "Trebuchet MS",sans-serif;">
<br /></div>
<div style="font-family: "Trebuchet MS",sans-serif;">
***</div>
<div style="font-family: "Trebuchet MS",sans-serif;">
<br /></div>
<div style="font-family: "Trebuchet MS",sans-serif;">
Now, as for the performance of
this <i>MacBook</i>, I think it is stellar. Great speed, RAM appears to be
sufficient (less <i>RAM</i> is needed for <i>OS X</i> than for <i>Windows 7</i>), very
responsive, goes to sleep and wakes up promptly, and battery life
appears to be wonderful (remember to calibrate the battery in the first
week and every month or so, regardless of what <i>Apple</i> or anyone else says
about it not being required for the built-in <i>batteries</i>).</div>
<div style="font-family: "Trebuchet MS",sans-serif;">
<br /></div>
<div style="font-family: "Trebuchet MS",sans-serif;">
I know
many people are getting extra <i>RAM</i> right off the bat for this product,
and one of the choices is one from Crucial. I would recommend using
Crucial's advisory tool before purchase, as some things that are
suggested by <i>Amazon</i> are not compatible according to Crucial. This goes
for any other RAM manufacturer, as well.

<div style="font-family: "Trebuchet MS",sans-serif;">
Okay, I'm the first to admit that I'm not a computer person. I barely
know anything about technology-only that I need it to survive. I had a
Macbook for a couple of years that I bought from a friend and needed an
upgrade. As this was the cheapest option available, I figured I'd go for
it.</div>
<div style="font-family: "Trebuchet MS",sans-serif;">
<br /></div>
<div style="font-family: "Trebuchet MS",sans-serif;">
And I'm so glad I did. It is incredibly user friendly. At
the setup it asked if I had another Mac I wanted to use to load
documents, etc, from and it gave me an option for methods of doing so. I
ended up using my external hard drive for it. The computer remembered
everything the way I had it on my other system-right down to the last
detail. Setting it up took almost no time. I got <i>the 500gb</i> with <i>4gb</i> of<i>
RAM</i> and it runs so well. I am going to be upgrading it to 8g just
because I want it to be even faster but from what I can tell it doesn't
need it.</div>
<div style="font-family: "Trebuchet MS",sans-serif;">
<br /></div>
<div style="font-family: "Trebuchet MS",sans-serif;">
The picture quality is incredible, I love that the
keyboard is backlit, and the touchpad is so streamlined it actually
makes it easier to use. I highly recommend this product whether you are a
first time<i> Mac</i> user or a Mac lover from way back in the day. You won't
be disappointed.</div>

<span style="vertical-align: middle;"><b>Apple vs PC</b></span><span class="crVerifiedStripe"><b class="h3color tiny" style="margin-right: 0.5em;"> </b></span></div>
<span style="font-family: "Trebuchet MS",sans-serif;">I purchased this computer for my wife about a year ago. From the moment
we turned it on we noticed the true difference between <i>a PC</i> and <i>a MAC</i>.
<i>PC's</i> are truly built for the Techy and <i>MAC's</i> for the rest of us. That
is not to say that <i>MAC's</i> are only for people that have no idea how to
use<i> a PC</i>, they are built for those that don't know how all the code
works. Currently, we have two PC's and one <i>MAC</i>. The Mac cost quite a
bit more than the <i>PC</i>, however, we haven't had any software or hardware
problems with <i>the MAC</i> and a host of software problems with the PC.
Furthermore, the touch pad on <i>a MAC</i> is superior to that on a<i> PC</i>. There
is no struggle to scroll down, right click, drag and drop and so on.
Also, when I purchased <i>the MAC</i>, it came with a free wireless printer. <i>
The PC desktop</i> wouldn't load the printer through <i>the Windows</i> auto
feature because it couldn't find a suitable driver. I had to use the
disk that came with <i>the Printer</i>. Not a problem, but when I started
loading the software on the <i>PC</i> I figured I would see how it worked on a
<i>MAC</i>. <i>The MAC</i> asked me two easy questions, asked for permission to go to
the <i>HP</i> website for the software and printed it's first test page before
the <i>PC</i> loaded three of nine items from the disk.</span><br />
<br />
<span style="font-family: "Trebuchet MS",sans-serif;">Overall, the <i>
MAC</i> is superior in everything so far over the PC, but most importantly
is the Operating system. <i>MAC's operating system</i> seems flawless. Quick
start up and blazing speeds to include shut down or waking the system
up. </span><br />
<span style="font-family: "Trebuchet MS",sans-serif;">Plus Apple</span><span style="font-family: "Trebuchet MS",sans-serif; white-space: nowrap;"><a class="sPL" href="http://www.blogger.com/blogger.g?blogID=9165219573290972513"><i>(best macbook pro)</i> </a></span><span style="font-family: "Trebuchet MS",sans-serif;">thinks of little details, like <i>a keyboard</i> that knows
it's dark so it lights up and then allows you to set the brightness.
You will pay more, but I think money is less important than time and the
extra bucks are worth the savings in patience you will need with <i>a PC</i>
and <i>Windows</i>. However, if you are truly looking for that ability to
figure out code and love to wait for <i>Windows</i> to consistently update and
crash, save some cash and buy <i>a PC</i>. You can tuck away the savings you
will eventually need for relaxation therapy sessions after purchasing <i>a
PC</i>.

<span style="font-family: "Trebuchet MS",sans-serif;">I bought this <i>MacBook Pro 13.3' Laptop computer</i> because I wanted <i>a
lightweight</i>, <i>smaller computer</i> to use in our living room. Thinking the
smaller screen might present a problem seeing it well, I was surprised
that <i>the glossy screen</i> could be seen easily. Such vivid colors, too! I
am a senior citizen, and have not had any trouble reading what is on
the screen. While I watch <i>TV</i>, I can check my e-mails and answer them,
surf the net and check various files that I have. I also like to play
games. I can also listen to music (<i>CDs</i> or online) and <i>streaming radio
broadcasts</i> (our son broadcasts from out-of-state and love being able to
hear his <i>radio station's streaming</i>). Being <i>a Mac</i>-only user, I wanted a
very good, well-made, reliable computer with plenty of functions such as
<i> a DVD player</i>---and this is it! And, it only weighs<i> 4.5 lbs</i>., so is
easy to place onto a table that I have near my chair when I am finished
using it. It is a great size for travel, too. I own a larger, older
<i>Mac Book Pro</i>, too, and have never been disappointed with it. I highly
recommend this computer.

<div style="font-family: "Trebuchet MS",sans-serif;">
<span style="vertical-align: middle;"><b>Perfect for my needs</b></span></div>
<div style="font-family: "Trebuchet MS",sans-serif;">
<i>This </i><i>MacBook Pro</i> is perfect for what I need it for. As <i>a college
student</i>, I needed <i>a laptop</i> that I could lug around all day and not be
hindered by it. I needed something that I could put with <i>my books</i> and
other accessories and be able to bring it around campus with me to all <i>
my classes</i>. It needed to have great battery life, as well as better
performance than the <i>EEE PC Asus netbook</i> I had previously been using.
This <i>MacBook Pro</i> has done the job. Not only is it light enough to bring
with me anywhere I go, but the battery lasts a very long time. Though
it may not last as long as my <i>Asus netbook</i>, the battery gets me through
the day, and the added benefit of great performance makes the slight hit
in battery life worth it tenfold.<br />
<br />
I didn't need the
super-portable <i>MacBook Air</i>, only something that was small enough and
light enough to not be overly-noticable. If you are having trouble
deciding between <i>the Air</i> and <i>the Pro</i>, think about what you need. If you
can live with your laptop being a few pounds more, but come with a
bigger hard drive (albeit not an <i>SSD</i>), better <i>CPU</i>, and a disc drive,
then <i>the 13" MBP</i> is perfect for you, as it is for me.

Key Features</span></h4>
<h5 style="font-family: "Trebuchet MS",sans-serif;">
<span style="font-size: small;">
Revolutionary Thunderbolt Technology</span></h5>
<div style="font-family: "Trebuchet MS",sans-serif;">
<span style="font-size: small;">Developed
by Intel with collaboration from<i> Apple</i>, <i>high-speed Thunderbolt I/O
</i>(input/output) technology delivers an amazing 10 gigabits per second of
transfer speeds in both directions. Built into <i>the MacBook Pro</i>, the
Thunderbolt port allows you to connect to <i>new Thunderbolt</i>-compatible
peripherals as well as existing <i>USB</i> and <i>FireWire </i>peripherals using
simple adapters. You'll be able to move data up to 20 times faster than
with USB 2.0 and more than 12 times faster than with FireWire 800, and
you can daisy-chain multiple high-speed devices without using a hub.</span></div>
<div style="font-family: "Trebuchet MS",sans-serif;">
<span style="font-size: small;">And
because Thunderbolt is based on <i>DisplayPort technology</i>, you'll be able
to connect to a high-resolution display from the same port. Any Mini
DisplayPort display plugs right into the Thunderbolt port, and you can
also connect displays that use <i>DisplayPort, DVI, HDMI, or VGA
connections</i> with an existing adapter. You'll also be able to include
your display into<i> a daisy-chained</i> set of peripherals.</span><br />

<span style="font-size: small;">
Next-Generation Dual-Core Intel Processor</span></h5>
<div style="font-family: "Trebuchet MS",sans-serif;">
<span style="font-size: small;">This
<i>MacBook Pro</i> is powered by <i>a second-generation Intel Core i5 dual-core
processor</i>, which provides breakthrough digital media management, content
creation, and 3D gaming capabilities. With updated <b><i>Intel Turbo Boost
Technology 2.0</i></b>, <b>the latest Core i5</b> increases speed automatically for
whatever you're doing, dynamically accelerating performance to match
your workload.</span></div>
<div style="font-family: "Trebuchet MS",sans-serif;">
<span style="font-size: small;"><b>Intel's Hyper-Threading Technology</b> enables each
core of your processor to work on two tasks at the same time, delivering
the performance you need for smart multitasking. And you'll enjoy a
rich set of new features for a stunning and seamless visual experience
with no additional hardware. The Core i5 processor also provides faster
access to the installed RAM, with an integrated memory controller to
connect fast 1333 MHz memory directly to the processor.</span></div>
<div style="font-family: "Trebuchet MS",sans-serif;">
<span style="font-size: small;">With new
microarchitecture, the graphics processor resides on the same chip as
the central processor and has direct access to <b>the 3 MB</b> of <b>shared L3
cache</b>--helping your applications run at peak performance. And an
integrated video encoder enables <b><i>HD video calls</i></b> with FaceTime, while an
efficient decoder gives you long battery life when you're <b>watching DVDs</b>
or <b>iTunes movies</b>.</span></div>
<h5 style="font-family: "Trebuchet MS",sans-serif;">
<span style="font-size: small;">
Buttonless Multi-Touch Trackpad</span></h5>
<div style="font-family: "Trebuchet MS",sans-serif;">
<span style="font-size: small;">With
no button on the glass trackpad, there's more room to track and
click--left, right, center, and everywhere in between. Without a
separate button, the trackpad gives your hands plenty of room to move on
the large, silky glass surface. It also incorporates Multi-Touch
gestures--including swipe, pinch, rotate, and four-finger swipe. And it
also now supports inertial scrolling, an intuitive way to scroll through
large photo libraries, lengthy documents and long web sites.</span><br />

<span style="font-size: small; vertical-align: middle;"><b>Worth considering.</b>, <nobr>November 23, 2011</nobr></span>

<span style="font-size: small;"><b>UPDATE </b>on November 24, 2011. This is a relatively new laptop from
<i>Toshiba</i>, without any reviews posted before mine, so I wrote what follows
to try to supply some information to people who were trying to decide
whether to take advantage of a one-day Amazon special. That special is
now over, and this computer is currently listed for its regular<i> Amazon
price</i>, which is about $150 more than it was on November 23rd. With the
large number of sales of this model recorded yesterday, hopefully
reviewers with hands-on experiences to share should show up in a while.</span><br />
<span style="font-size: small;"><br /></span><br />
<span style="font-size: small;">[<b>Original
review follows</b>:] I am writing this review on a day [November 23, 2011]
that this laptop is an Amazon featured special, and at its special
price I think it is definitely worth considering. Since there are no
hands-on reviews to consider and you only have today to decide on the
special price, I suggest that you compare this model with the very
popular Toshiba R835-P56x, which is also available on Amazon and has
lots of reviews. I will summarize the comparability of these two
laptops in a moment, but suffice it to say that they are in the same
ballpark regarding features and performance. For today, at least, the
R845-S85 is being offered at a significantly lower price.</span><br />
<span style="font-size: small;"><br /></span><br />
<span style="font-size: small;">The <b>
R845-S85</b> has a slightly larger screen (14 inch versus 13.3 inch), a
similar <i>Intel Core i5 processor (Core i5-2430M versus Core i5-2410M),
has 6GB of RAM (versus 4GB)</i>, similar integrated graphics, same hard
drive (640GB), similar ports, same optical drive, the same Windows 7
Home Premium 64-bit operating system, and features a claimed 10 hour
battery life (versus 8 hours). One potentially important disadvantage
compared to the R835-P56x is that the R845-S85 weighs 4.2 pounds, versus
3.2 pounds. The more you carry around your laptop, perhaps the more
this difference will be meaningful to you.</span><br />
<span style="font-size: small;"><br /></span><br />
<span style="font-size: small;">Simply put, there is
no such thing as a laptop with the longest battery life, most powerful
processor and graphics capabilities, strongest construction and lowest
price. You need to decide which features are most important to you and
then narrow your selection accordingly. If what you want is a model
with good processing capability, relatively light weight, good battery
performance and an optical drive--all at a very good price--then this
R845-S85 model is well worth your consideration.</span><br />
<span style="font-size: small;"><br /></span><br />
<span style="font-size: small;">Full disclosure:
I own the <b>Toshiba R835-P70</b>, which is the <b>R835-P56x</b> (that I used as the
comparison above) with Wi-Max capability added. I have had no problems
with it, and for my use (mostly business) its combination of features
make it the best laptop I have owned.</span><br />
<span style="font-size: small;"><br /></span><br />
<span style="font-size: small;">One more thing: There is
an interesting suggestion for an external laptop speaker buried in the
comments section (I think it's about the 16th comment). Since laptops,
especially smaller ones like this, are not known for having high quality
speakers, you may find this speaker worth a look.</span><br />

<span style="font-size: small;">I bought this Laptop when it was the Amazon Deal of the Day for $599. I
couldn't be happier with this purchase, especially at that ridiculously
low price point. Instead of going over all the specs, I'll highlight
some pros and cons of this laptop for potential buyers.</span><br />
<span style="font-size: small;"><br /></span><br />
<span style="font-size: small;"><b>Pros:</b></span><br />
<span style="font-size: small;">-
Construction/Look: The chassis and chiclet keyboard (spill-resistant)
feel real sturdy and of high-quality. The construction of this laptop
doesn't have a cheap "plastic" feeling like some laptops out on the
market.</span><br />
<span style="font-size: small;">- Battery Life: The battery life on this 6-cell battery is
unbelievable, especially for a 14' laptop. For the first few charge
cycles, I've been able to consistently get over 7 hours of battery life
surfing the web and playing music with headphones. The ecoUtility app
really helps with prolonging battery life.</span><br />
<span style="font-size: small;">- Intel WiDi capable: I
really wanted a laptop with this capability so that I can wirelessly
stream to my TV while working on my laptop. Note that you need to buy a
WiDi adapter to connect to your TV/display (~$100).</span><br />
<span style="font-size: small;">- Performance: The i5 processor coupled with 6GB of memory gives this laptop plenty of juice for 99% of computing activities.</span><br />
<span style="font-size: small;">- SIZE of hard drive: 640GB of space is more than you'll probably even use.</span><br />
<span style="font-size: small;">- Weight: 4.2 pounds and just about 1 inch thick makes this laptop pretty portable.</span><br />
<span style="font-size: small;">-
Optical Drive: This may not factor much for some people, but as more
and more companies opt to remove optical drives from their laptops, it
was nice to see Toshiba put in a full DVD burner/drive on this machine.</span><br />
<span style="font-size: small;">-
Connectivity: 1 USB 3.0 port AND capability for USB Sleep-and-Charge
(charge stuff while laptop is off) AND an e-SATA/USB combo port AND an
HDMI input is awesome!</span><br />
<span style="font-size: small;">- Value: For the 600-800 price range for a 14 inch laptop, you'd struggle to find a laptop with this much under the hood.</span><br />
<span style="font-size: small;"><br /></span><br />
<span style="font-size: small;"><b>Cons:</b></span><br />
<span style="font-size: small;">- No Bluetooth: a tiny external </span><span style="font-size: small;"><b> </b><i>toshiba laptop</i> <i>support</i> USB dongle runs for about 10 bucks, but I wish Toshiba would have built-in a bluetooth receiver.</span><br />
<span style="font-size: small;">-
Screen: 1366 x 768 resolution (720p). Not bad by any means, but for a
14', It would have been nice to see a higher resolution offered.</span><br />
<span style="font-size: small;">- Speakers: Sound can be a bit tinny at loud volumes. Noticably better than Portege R835 speakers though.</span><br />
<span style="font-size: small;">-
SPEED of hard drive: the 640GB hard drive only runs at 5400 rpm. I
would have liked to see that be at 7200rpm or even a SSD drive, but all
things considered, I can't complain much...just a nagging annoyance.</span><br />
<span style="font-size: small;">-
Bloatware/Volume of Apps: Toshiba seemed to have cut down on the total
amount of bloatware they put on this machine but they have too many apps
pre-installed on this machine for my liking so I ended up manually
uninstalling some that I knew I would never use.</span><br />
<span style="font-size: small;"><br /></span><br />
<span style="font-size: small;">I would <b>
DEFINITELY</b> recommend this laptop to anyone considering it at the
$600-800 price point, as you'd be hard pressed to find significantly
better deals. As another reviewer said, this is basically the 14 inch
version of the Portege R835-P81 laptop (also sold on Amazon). That's
just a smaller version (13.3' 3.2 lbs), but overall there are a LOT of
similarities, even with the look. If you're in the market for a laptop
with comparable specs but want something smaller, check that out. I hope
this helps potential buyers out!

<span style="font-size: small; vertical-align: middle;"><b>A quality and powerful laptop</b>, <nobr>November 28, 2011</nobr></span><br />
<span style="font-size: small; vertical-align: middle;"><nobr> </nobr></span><span style="font-size: small;">First let me tell you that this laptop not only looks good but it's also powerful, Thin and light weight.</span><br />
<span style="font-size: small;">I
watched a bluray file and a 1080 mkv file at the same time with no
stutter and with only 18% CPU load. My Quad core Desktop would start
stuttering when I do this and cpu load goes to 100% (it's a Q6600 intel
quad core cpu)</span><br />
<span style="font-size: small;">Had to instal java 64bit edition and directx runtime
environment. Just make sure that whatever software you're instaling is
64bit compatible. had to increase color saturation to add more color but
led display looks great. Tweaked touchpad settings a little bit to make
it the way I like it. Theres an eco button that doubles your battery
consumption to 10 hours with light use but dims the display brightness
but you'll get used to it. Also it seems that pushing the eco button
disables one core of the cpu. The computer wakes up instanly when you
open the lid and resumes whatever it was doing. the wifi is very strong
and picks up a lot of networks. Hard drive is easily accessible, only
two screws. It runs very cool. I ran two 1080p bluray files at the same
time through wifi N streaming from another computer with ease and no
stutter. This laptop looks thiner in person and looks good. you can
carry it with one hand from the corner and it doesn't bend like some do.
you have esata, usb 3.0-2.0 combo. The speakers are loud, just make
sure you enable loudness in audio properties and also select equalizer
and increase the treble a little bit. No inputs in the back. when you
rest your hands on the laptop wihile typing feels solid. Keyboard is
very nice and I'm pretty picky when it comes to keyboards. After
adjusting the color settings in the onboard video properties I watched
the planet earth bluray streaming from my media server the display was
crisp and clear with vivid colors like I was watching my 1080p led tv.
Here's the color adjustments that I'm using, Saturation 10, contrast 1,
brightness -2 for better contrast and see the difference. You get what
you pay for applies with this laptop.</span><br />
